Serving the Coastal Carolinas with Expertise and Precision

We get it—it’s one thing to say we can fix the problem.
It’s another to actually show it.

Below are just a few real projects we’ve completed for homeowners, builders, and communities throughout Coastal Carolina—from Myrtle Beach to Morehead City.

Residential

A Boat Pad and Entry Expansion Done the Right Way.
Drainage Built In From the Start.

Project Type: Concrete Installation, Drainage-Aware Site Prep

Location: Jacksonville, NC

The Problem: The homeowner needed new concrete access pads, but uneven terrain and existing landscaping made proper drainage and precise installation challenging. They needed a team who could get it right without disrupting the site.

Our Solution:  Rainstorm Solutions prepared the site, coordinated utility locates, and formed new concrete slabs for a widened entry area and a durable boat pad. Each slab was graded for correct water flow, poured cleanly, and finished to tie seamlessly into the existing property.  Our approach balanced structural strength with proper drainage, ensuring long-lasting, functional surfaces that support the homes’ overall lanscape and water management.

The Result: The homeowner has two new clean, durable concrete surfaces — a widened entry pad and a boat pad — both graded for proper water flow and finished to blend seamlessly with the existing property. No disruption to the landscape, no drainage headaches down the road. Just solid work done right the first time.

From Eroding Foundation to Award-Worthy Rain Garden:
A Backyard Turned Around.

Project Type: Rain Garden + Downspout Extension

Location: Wilmington, NC

The Problem: Flooding in backyard, and foundation was eroding, causing more damage and lowing the home value with every storm.

Our Solution: Rainstorm Solutions ran downspout extensions to redirect stormwater away from the foundation, stopping the erosion at its source. As NC State Agriculture Certified Rain Garden installers, we then designed and installed a beautiful rain garden — funded in part through a Heal Our Waterways (HOW) grant — that captures and filters runoff naturally, protecting both the home and the local watershed.

The Result:  Foundation erosion has stopped, backyard flooding is gone, and stormwater now flows into a thriving rain garden instead of undermining the home. The HOW grant helped make it happen. The result is a property that’s more valuable, better protected, and genuinely beautiful after every storm.

Erosion Was Eating This Backyard Alive.
Two Bulkheads Stopped It for Good.

Project Type: Bulkhead Installation, Swale Stabilization

Location: Ogden Area, Wilmington, NC

The Problem: Persistent standing water was eroding the backyard swale, threatening the home’s foundation and preventing the homeowner from using their yard safely.

Our Solution:  Rainstorm Solutions installed dual bulkheads along both sides of the residential swale to stop erosion and restore structural stability. After coordinating 811 locates, our team built 40’ and 60’ bulkhead sections using pressure-treated posts and rebar anchors for long-term strength. Each structure was precisely aligned, leveled, and finished cleanly. The swale now drains properly, protects the foundation, and provides a safer, more usable yard.

The Result:  The erosion has stopped, the swale drains correctly, and the foundation is protected. Two structurally sound bulkheads — 40 and 60 feet — now hold the swale walls firm through any storm. The homeowner has a yard they can safely use again, with infrastructure built to last for decades.

Developers & Builders

The Developer Installed the Pipe Wrong.
We Fixed It Without Leaving a Scar.

Project Type: Pipe Repair, Asphalt, Concrete

Location: Sunset Beach, NC

The Problem: Two neighboring homes were dealing with recurring flooding because a shared stormwater pipe had been installed incorrectly by the original developer.

Our Solution: Rainstorm Solutions cut into both driveways, removed the failing pipe, and salvaged any sections that were still structurally sound. We regraded the line for proper slope, installed new pipe where needed, and backfilled to direct stormwater exactly where it belongs — in full compliance. Finally, we poured new concrete to tie the driveways back together seamlessly, leaving the entrance looking better than before.

The Result: Both homeowners now stay dry during storms, the HOA is in compliance, and you’d never know the driveways were ever cut.

When the High Point Is in the Wrong Place,
the Whole Yard Suffers. We Fixed It.

Project Type: Yard Regrading, Swale Installation, Drainage Correction

Location: Hamstead, NC

The Problem: A high point in the yard was forcing water toward the home’s foundation, causing improper drainage and standing water.

Our Solution: Rainstorm Solutions regraded the 4,000 sq. ft. yard to establish proper flow away from the home. We created a shallow swale to redirect runoff, added precision-leveled topsoil, and protected all irrigation lines during the process. Final grading ensured consistent contours and improved drainage performance. The yard was left clean, shaped correctly, and fully prepared for new sod installation.

The Result: Water now flows away from the home instead of toward the foundation. The new shallow swale carries runoff where it should go, the 4,000 sq. ft. yard is correctly contoured, and irrigation stayed protected throughout. The homeowner is left with a clean, graded canvas that’s ready for new sod — and a drainage pattern built to last.

HOA Communities

Swales Arbor Creek: From Chronic Flooding to Full Capacity

Project Type: Stormwater System Upgrade, Swale Reconstruction, Sediment Removal, and Inspection

Location:  Arbor Creek Community Association

The Problem: The Arbor Creek Community Association faced chronic stormwater management issues around Sagewood Pond due to aging pipes, sediment buildup, and failing swales. Reduced flow capacity caused standing water, erosion, and diminished pond storage—impacting both performance and aesthetics.

Our Solution:  Rainstorm Solutions designed and executed a full drainage restoration plan. After utility locating and safely pumping down the pond, we installed a new reinforced concrete structure, extended 140 feet of 24″ HDPE pipe, rebuilt inlet and roadside swales, reinstalled riprap with geo-fabric, and vacuumed sediment from key storm lines with post-cleaning camera inspections.

The Result: Restored flow, increased capacity, and long-term infrastructure stability.  Each swale now drains correctly, reduces pooling, and provides the community with a more reliable stormwater system.

Eight Swales. All Failing. One Systematic Fix.

Project Type: Swale Restoration, Regrading, Drainage

Location:  Juniper Creek, Southport, NC

The Problem: Eight swales throughout the community were no longer draining properly. Sediment buildup, uneven grading, and overgrown vegetation caused pooling, erosion, and restricted water flow after storms.

Our Solution: Rainstorm Solutions coordinated with 811, inspected each swale, and corrected the grading to restore proper flow. We removed sediment and overgrowth, reshaped low spots, and stabilized the soil with hydroseed where needed. Minor concrete transitions were also adjusted to improve water movement from street inlets.

The Results: Each swale now drains correctly, reduces pooling, and provides the community with a more reliable stormwater system.

Out of Compliance and Stuck. We Fixed the Pond So the HOA Could Finally Take Over.

Project Type: Retention Pond Installation

Location: Hampstead, NC

The Problem: The neighborhood was out of stormwater compliance. Slope erosion, incorrect pond grading, and a damaged forebay dam had allowed sediment to build up, raising the elevation beyond acceptable levels. The developer could not transfer the stormwater permit to the HOA until the pond was brought back into compliance.

Our Solution: Rainstorm Solutions excavated and dredged sediment and debris from the forebay, then raised the pond apron to meet compliance standards. We reinstalled the forebay dam with an eye toward easy annual maintenance, setting the community up for a clean handoff — and a stormwater system the HOA can actually manage going forward.

The Result: Rainstorm Solutions excavated and dredged sediment and debris from the forebay, then raised the pond apron to meet compliance standards. We reinstalled the forebay dam with an eye toward easy annual maintenance, setting the community up for a clean handoff — and a stormwater system the HOA can actually manage going forward.

A Sinkhole Behind the House. We Found the Cause, and
Fixed It for Good.

Project Type: Sinkhole, Drainage, Soil Stabilization

Location: Paramount Way, North Chase, NC

The Problem: A homeowner discovered a sinkhole forming behind their property. Limited access and hidden underground issues made the cause unclear and potentially dangerous.

Our Solution: Rainstorm Solutions performed an exploratory dig to expose the problem area, removing fencing for access. We found a deteriorated metal pipe connected to an older concrete system. The failing section was removed and replaced with a durable modern pipe, securely tied into existing lines for both properties.

We backfilled and stabilized the soil, restored proper drainage, and installed new sod and fencing. The yard is now stable, safe, and flowing correctly.

The Result: The sinkhole is gone, the underground pipe system is fully replaced with modern materials, and the yard has been restored with new sod and fencing. The homeowner now has a stable, safe property with drainage that flows correctly — and no more guessing what’s happening beneath the surface.

Soggy Yard, Dead Grass, and Water Going Nowhere.
One Regrade Fixed All Three.

Project Type: Grading correction, soil removal, and hydro-seeding

Location:  Seaside Bay, Supply, NC.

The Problem: The homeowner was experiencing poor surface drainage due to an uneven grade along a low-lying section of their yard. Water was pooling instead of flowing away as intended, creating soggy conditions and preventing proper lawn growth.

Our Solution: Rainstorm Solutions coordinated with 811 to identify utilities before excavation, then shot elevations to confirm proper slope. We regraded roughly 80 feet of drainage line, removing excess soil with compact equipment to protect the landscape. After shaping the swale for consistent flow, our team returned to hydroseeding the area for quick vegetation growth and erosion control. The result: restored drainage, eliminated pooling, and a stable, natural-looking swale built to last.
